Brean Golf Club is situated on the North Somerset coast at Brean Leisure Park, 10 minutes from Burnham On Sea, and M5 J22. The current layout of the course was opened in March 2016 and sees the 18 holes cover 5663yds from the back tees with a par of 69.
Although not long by today’s standards it’s small greens & abundance of water hazards will keep golfers of any standard thinking throughout their round.
Being located close to the coast the sea breeze will be another factor that will make a golfer think whilst playing over the lush meadow course. In addition to our well maintained greens, enjoy the friendliness of the club as well as our Pro Shop, on-site restaurant and bars, and the amenities at the nearby 4-star Holiday Resort Unity. Whether you’re here for a complete holiday or simply an afternoon on the greens, we’re here to make your golf experience one worth remembering.
Hole 12, 583 yards, par 5
The toughest hole on the course! This hole requires much thought to prevent a big number being racked up. A straight drive required to avoid the trees to the right and the ditch to the left of the fairway. The rhyne crossing the fairway at around 300 yards keeps you thinking if your drive is out of position as does the out of bounds on the left hand side on the approach to the green. If that’s not enough the large lake on the right hand side, starting 100 yards short of the green and running the length of it, swallows golf balls for fun and creates an intimidating approach for all levels of golfer. The green is much larger than it looks from the fairway and an extra club is always advisable. A 6 or 7 is no bad score here!
Birdie chance at Brean Golf Club
Hole 18, 465 yards, par 5. This short par five offers a birdie chance if the drive carries the rhyne. Otherwise the second shot needs to be positioned to the right half of the fairway over the marker post to give the best approach to this small sloped green. Water awaits long and right of this hole as well as out of bounds on the left hand side.
