This Ernie Els signature design forms part of the prestigious world-class Hoakalei Country Club next to beautiful Ocean Pointe, Ewa Beach, about 20 minutes from Honolulu.
Recently ranked among Golfweek’s Best New Courses, the 18-hole championship golf course at Hoakalei Country Club offers a golf experience unlike any other in Hawaii. Designed by Ernie Els, a first for the Islands, the par-72, 7,400-yard course spans 248 acres along Oahu’s spectacular southwestern shoreline. Offering four sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all skill levels, the course combines immaculate greens with numerous white sand bunkers and strategically placed lakes and lagoons for both the leisure and competitive player.
There are 114 strategically placed bunkers throughout the course, and risk-reward shots are challenging but extremely satisfying. Mr. Els designed this course to suit every golfer, whether amateur or professional, with beautiful water features—some being troublesome. The hole layout has been configured in conjunction with the trade winds, which means Hoakalei is the type of course that could play different from day to day.
