Golf du Champ de Bataille is located in the commune of Neubourg in Normandy. Champ de Bataille is a woodland course being part of the castle park and following natural valleys and water hazards. For 60 hectares, the course follows century old trees, bracken filled undergrowth and huge rhododendron bushes. The course was created in 1990 by the American architect Robin Nelson and the French landscape gardener Thierry Huau who has maintained the natural beauty of the site.

The golf course is a 6,600 yard par 72 and has a great layout. It is beautifully carved out of mature trees with the occasional strategically placed water hazard. The greens and fairways are highly renowned for being in excellent condition. It can be said that this is one of the most difficult and beautiful golf in Normandy and arguably France has to offer, particularly in the spring when it becomes full of blooming rhododendrons which are truly a wonderful sight. When playing golf in France or certainly within Normandy, this is a golf course which you just have to play.

Please note that the course has been modified and the two new holes (12 and 13) were designed by the French architect Jean Manuel Rossi.
