Kilcoole Golf Club is a beautiful, 9 Hole Parkland course in Co. Wicklow. It is blessed with excellent drainage allowing for year round golf, as a result of which the need for temporary surfaces over the winter period are rarely encountered.
Kilcoole Golf Club was founded in 1992 and was originally privately owned. In 1997 however, the club was purchased by the members and has since gone from strength from strength.
The course is largely flat but nonetheless challenging. The third hole for example, is a short par three to an island green that has gained a deserved reputation as a card-wrecker. The challenge is in the course. There is no uphill work, something appreciated by the older members, but you need your wits about you to meet the challenges presented in the course design. The playing surfaces are always in good condition and rolling greens with subtle slopes make for an interesting time.
