Golf de Dieppe-Pourville

golf-de-dieppe-pourville-france

Designed in 1897 by the famous English architect Willie Park Jr, the Golf de Dieppe-Pourville is the 7th oldest in France. Varied, undulating, wooded, part links and part parkland in the English style, with two elegant water hazards, this is a course where fir trees sweep the ground with their branches alongside many of the fairways. A course that is accessible to golfers of all levels, yet challenging for better players, as every shot is different. The designer J.P. Fourès created the four cliff-top holes, exposed to the wind blowing off the sea, and with magnificent sea-views from high on the chalk cliffs. This doyen of Norman links is one of the most unmissable golf courses in Normandy.

This course has character with its slope of 132 from the black tees, its SSS of 71.8 for a par 70 and … 5804 meters!
Some holes require the technique because the trees have grown; others require power such as #4, par-4 of 433 m, followed by the “valley” other impressive Par-4 with a hard green or the par 4 of 427 m #13 and superb downhill 16, Par-5, with an elevated green, that fully embraced the imposing site.
