The excellent 5,500 metre East Cork Golf Club is situated on the outskirts of Midleton in East Cork (25 minute drive from Cork City).

East Cork Golf Club was founded in 1968 when Eamon and Peg Moloney converted their dairy farm into a nine hole golf course. The Course is situated on the ourskirts of Midleton, bordered by two rivers, making it an ideal parkland location for a golf course. Eddie Hackett, one of Irelands foremost Golf Course Architects designed the course and local development contractor, Ned Moran carried out the work.

The Course was officially opened on the 10th of November 1969 by the late Mr. Brian Lenihan, T.D.
The course was extended to 18 holes in 1975 and an extension to the clubhouse was completed in 1992. Don Mc Farlane came on board as the club professional and a new driving range was finished in 1999.

The front nine holes at East Cork Golf Club are tree lined with native pine and hardwoods. Players will have to concentrate on accuracy rather than power, while there are spectacular views of the East Cork countryside from the 8th hole. The back nine at East Cork Golf Course is more open with water hazards and rivers to negotiate or navigate if things go wrong.
