Crescent Oaks Golf Course

Crescent Oaks Golf Course is truly one of Tarpon Springs’ championship golf jewels! This magnificent golf community is located on East Lake Road, north of Tampa, in Tarpon Springs. Crescent Oaks Golf Course is a vibrant and exciting club that boasts a fabulous  golf course and an event calendar that is always full of activity.

Built in 1991, Crescent Oaks Country Club was purchased by Crescent Oaks Partners, LLC in June 2005 and underwent a $1 million renovation in 2011. The championship 6,865-yard, 18-hole golf course at Crescent Oaks was designed by renowned golf course architect Steve Smyers with the technical expertise of Jim Colbert. The course winds through a gated community and features several holes with dog-legs, and many more with water hazards. On 14 of  18 holes, water can come into to play with drives, lay ups and forced carries, making these hazards a challenge from anywhere on the course. Straight and accurate drives are required to avoid the hazards and negotiate tight fairways.  Many of your second and third shots will also prove tricky. About average in length, the course boasts 7 sets of tees ranging from 5150 yards to just over 6900.

Crescent Oaks Golf Course – Florida

Best holes on the course :

Number 5:
Par 4 – 290 yards. This short par 4 is definitely drivable for long ball hitters. You’ll need to keep your tee shot right (not too far right or you will be in the nature preserve). A series of bunkers guard this small, flat green that make a good short game a necessity.

Number 6:
Par 5 – 496 yards. This relatively short par 5 is reachable in two with a good tee shot. Beware of the pond on the right which definitely comes into play off the tee. You’ll also need to navigate the creek that crosses the fairway on your second shot. Your approach shot will be to a small, slightly elevated green featuring a bit of undulation.

Number 10:
Par 5 – 600 yards. Be careful of the large tree on the left side of the fairway; it will block out quite a few second shots and can leave a lot longer approach shot than you may deserve after a good drive. The green is elevated and has a ridge running through the middle of it. Par is a good score here.

Number 18 :
Par 4 – 459 yards. Quite the finishing hole; a dogleg left with water on the left of the entire fairway. You can bailout right on your tee shot however that just makes a long approach shot that much longer. The green features a couple of small undulations and is well-guarded with sand right and water left.
