Al Zikorus designed this 18-hole private course. With 6,658 yards from its longest tees, a par value of 72, a rating of 72.2 and a slope of 29, this layout offers a challenging game for both novice and skilled players. But it’s not just the excellent golf course that makes this club so special; it’s all the other amenities. The 10-tee driving range, the putting green and the chipping area offer plenty of room for those who want to put in some extra practice time. An on-site golf pro is also available to give both private and group lessons.
CedarBrook Golf & Tennis Club incorporates the rustic beauty of the New York countryside with a 6,658-yard golf course lined with mature trees and vibrant landscape features. Each fairway bottlenecks through groves of timbers, requiring golfers to exhibit accuracy off the tee and keep claustrophobic golf carts from fleeing to the open driving range. Slow-starting swings can work their kinks out early in the round, as an errant shot on the first hole—a 490-yard par 5 that gently doglegs left—won’t necessarily derail a chance at saving par or sneaking a quick snooze in the long grass.
The Pro shop, snack bar, cocktail lounge and Grille Room restaurant are attractive features as well. Throw in the elegant ballroom, the men’s and ladies’ card rooms, the locker rooms, fitness center, 13 Har-Tru tennis courts, swimming pool and racquetball courts and there is definitely something for everyone at Cedar Brook.
