The Pelican State of Louisiana sits in the Southern Region of the United States and, uniquely, it subdivides itself into parishes, instead of counties. With a strong French and Spanish heritage, plus an infusion of Creole and Cajun culture, Louisiana, especially New Orleans, its largest city, is a very happening place in terms of music and the performing arts in general. Two courses that were unveiled in the late 1980s close to the state capital of Baton Rouge are regarded amongst the best in state. The first of these is the private Nicklaus layout at the Country Club of Louisiana and the second is Arnold Palmer’s public track at The Bluffs Golf Resort. But we prefer Squire Creek and  Oakbourne.
